Brexit day
How will you mark Brexit day? The country is still divided. Many will party but many will not. Personally, I will have beer to drink to the end of an era but on a personal level not to a better future. I gave up on that months ago.

Re: Brexit day
1 referendum, 2 elections won on leave manifesto's .
I doubted it would ever happen, but i will be happy if it does.
I will save my celebrations until 2021.
The rich and powerful will not give up control easily.
I like to follow US and UK politics, i have a personal blog where i collect stuff , http://www.paulharrisonhull.com/
It's a work in progress .
I think we are living through historical and dangerous times. The hidden corruption is been exposed on a daily basis.

I'll have an early night so that in the morning I can go and watch the unicorns cantering across the sunlit uplands.

Re: Brexit day
Meh
I feel quite a few of the financial services, software, media companies based on the LSE will gradually view the EU and Euronext as a better prospect in the US/China/EU trade wars. On its own the UK seems like a small time player aided largely by the financial sector, education sector, former glories, high land prices and the pound. Manufacturing won't return without heavy investment outside of the vibrant cities and regions. But the UK is still spending far more than it gathers from tax, despite record employment. That alone shows what a mixed bag our country is.

It’ll come off ... and maybe I the long run it will be a good thing , but before that
Well fall bk into recession
Inflation will hit hard
Unemployment will realise as conglomerate companies
But a small
Price to pay for democracy
For me a good thing pensions will go thru the roof
But that what the public voted for
Personllay feel sorry for the youth of today

Re: Brexit day
That’s possibly correct because we’ll have to deflate the pound to make it worth anything.... oh the price of ‘freedom’

You can if you're unemployed, unable to pay the mortgage and can't support your family.
Oh and most WW2 veterans supported the EU, unlike those who are always banging on about the war but aren't actually old enough to remember it.

Re: Brexit day
My grandad fought in the war. It was the only time in his life he ever went abroad. He supported the EU because he thought it was the best way of avoiding another war between the countries of Europe.
I can understand why people wanted the UK to leave. I can't understand why some like Farage also want to see the destruction of the EU after we have left. Why should he care what happens to the EU once we are no longer in it? In this age of populism and nationalism, a Europe of nation states, like in the 1930s, is a recipe for conflict.

Re: Brexit day
Why does the EU need a flag, anthem and an army if all it is,
is a trading block? Germany couldn't take Europe by force so the
intent now is to take it by stealth. While the rest of Europe's manufacturing
countries declined, Germany's increased.
The euro is managed and administered by the Frankfurt-based European Central Bank.
The ideology behind the EU is on a par with socialism, fine on paper
but in reality a tried and failed concept. When you give the job of been a Shepard to the wolves
the sheep become the victims.

There are plenty of wolves in and around the UK government. Still I guess it's better to be devoured by them than beastly foreigners eh.

Re: Brexit day
true to form any debate on Brexit, degenerates into calling those who
disagree with your opinion a racist, a word used so many times it has now become irrelevant.

Who called who a racist? I didn't use the word. You're the one who accused Germany of trying to take over Europe.
