Re: Changes in permissions
The forum is built on feedback, so thought I would add mine.
I can already see there is a mixed reaction to all of this across the board with many I'm sure finding it frustrating, which if I'm honest I've joined the ranks of those finding the whole process frustrating. I personally feel the transition has been badly handled and rushed, I'm still unclear as to the motives behind such a rushed job. I think many of the members would not have such seemingly negative reactions had this been better thought out with proper advanced notification given as to the changes and time actually allowed for people to be able to digest and sort their subscription status properly. But for some bizarre reason less than 24 hours notice has been given of the changes. I've seen mentioned on other threads that you don't understand the reaction... The post advising of the changes was posted at 4:07pm on the 30th November. With the changes to take place as of the 01/12/2018. Would it not have been better to follow the suggestion of the poster that suggested the 01/01/2019 as the implementation date?
This has been rushed through, at a time when everyone is busy with the festive period, which is generally the most expensive time of the year for most people on here. The busiest too, I certainly have very little time as it is. You couldn't have picked a more inconvenient time for such a change. For me personally, I generally make my subscription in person when I get chance to pop in, which I won't get chance to do now until well into the New Year. I don't do electronic fund transfers for obvious reasons and will not just post the subscription through the post either.
Now, don't get wrong here I can understand that changes have to be made and I'm sure many won't have issues with that or with the subscription process (I don't) the exception I'm personally taking to this whole thing and suspect many are the same is the lack of proper communication with regards to the changes and you've not given the membership due time to sort their subscriptions before implementing these changes.
That's my two cents worth to this.

Re: Changes in permissions
Ok so I will post my thoughts in the original thread. Although the change won’t affect me greatly, it will, I believe, stop potential new customers from getting in touch. Most won’t want to pay to just send private messages to someone they are interested in visiting. Some will go down the avenue of texting but like I said in Sammys thread a lot don’t like to text for whatever reason and won’t even know about the Change so will just give up when they are unable to PM.
It won’t affect parlours as the majority just ring the parlour anyway or go to the website. This in my opinion will only affect indi girls which is quite unfair.
Also as somebody else mentioned, how are the men expected to communicate with each other. Some like to ask the opinion of others about girls without having to go into a chat room, or even to arrange a bi/3 some session. I can’t see the great need for such a change in a short period of time, also, I think for somebody new it is complicated enough to navigate around the forum.

Sammy the forum leans more towards Escorts that is why it is free for them, if you mean reports etcsammy jane wrote: ↑Sun Dec 02, 2018 6:44 pm
I'm fuming, I don't advertise elsewhere and a good 75% of my work comes from personal messages on here, it's a discrace and feel it's leaning towards the parlours... Currupt... Ill put my prices down again now to fuffle more feathers
A parlour has an average of 10 girls each, so for sure they will get more discussion.
As for corruption, you need to take a chill pill, from the forums inception i have made every effort
to keep it as fair as i can, every provider and escorts have exactly the same ability to advertise
some just maximise it more than others.

Wow seriously if it was not for us parlours and the generous gentleman that have donated to the forum over the last ten years you would not have any were to advertise for free .
Re: Changes in permissions
It probably will effect us all short term .But you got to think long term and the problems it will sort out for us all , and at the end of the day we all need the forum to be able to have a future .
Re: Changes in permissions
Its been tried before sammy they all just left and that why wraith lets the independents advertise for free to encourage them to stay so that its not only parlours on the forum so customers have more choice .

Re: Changes in permissions
I’d be willing to pay for any mail to come through only some of mine are genuine in booking the rest stay as enquires but that’s life on that one
But the girls in past who left because they wanted it free are the same as some of those here now that have it free but don’t contribute in anyway shape or form they simply put a name number or link if they can and do one how many of those actually use the forum for more than just an advert yet adultwork charge for such and they pay it and that’s one waste of space of a site with many more time wasters and that’s just business
Posting banter on here can sometimes gain the interest of new folk but some of them are total newbies who need the reassurance on first moves some return some don’t
Think trials of options that can create donations decrease spam and time wasters should be tried a bit like use it help it lose it

Re: Changes in permissions
Just a thought but what if you gave those who don’t subscribe a maximum number of pms and then if they want to send more they have to subscribe that may cut down the amount of spamming or time wasting as they will only have so many they can use
If they spam or waste time after paying a subscription there rights can be revoked
At least they then get a chance to prove genuine you get a sub fee and if they break the rules of sub fee they lose the right but you still have the fee

Re: Changes in permissions
Think also and can only speak from my experience. Sponsoring was always something I intended to do, but just never did because it was easy not to.
As far as I could see being a non sponsor gave me just as much privilege nearly and use of the forum as those who do sponsor it, and have done for years, which is surely wrong?
It’s finally made me do it and hopefully others do too.

Re: Changes in permissions
I thought this was such a good idea i have commissioned someone to make an extension for me.sophie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 3:20 pm Just a thought but what if you gave those who don’t subscribe a maximum number of pms and then if they want to send more they have to subscribe that may cut down the amount of spamming or time wasting as they will only have so many they can use

Hopefully i will have it installed at the weekend. What the extension will do is allow me to limit
non subscribers to say 5 private messages and if they want more they will have to subscribe.
This will allow new and existing members to make initial contact with escorts.

No messages for a long time now I bloody get one if carlsberg did messages
Re: Changes in permissions
Not a bad idea actually - just give them free membership for a week / month or whatever, a bit like a lot of other sites on the net.sophie wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 3:20 pm Just a thought but what if you gave those who don’t subscribe a maximum number of pms and then if they want to send more they have to subscribe that may cut down the amount of spamming or time wasting as they will only have so many they can use

Free membership doesn't have to mean free forever.
While I was married I had a a very varied and exciting sex life...... never told the wife tho'

Yes, that's the one.Wraith wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 4:11 pm Thank you for that. We are running the latest version of phpBB 3.2.4
There was an old mod but since mods where changed to ext's it hasn't been updated.
I assume you mean this one: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2224981
Another way around this would be to set the "Group private message limit per folder:" setting to a specific number, and change the group's permissions to prevent them deleting their own PMs.Wraith wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 11:18 pm I thought this was such a good idea i have commissioned someone to make an extension for me.

for some reason when the sent box reaches 100% it just continues to add to it eg: 102% etc.

Why would you want to prevent people from deleting their own PMs? I was already annoyed at the start of the week because I was unable to delete my own PMs! Not being able to send PM's is one thing, but not being able to delete them is another!paperplane wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 2:53 pm ... change the group's permissions to prevent them deleting their own PMs.
