As a non- subscriber I think it is the way forward to keep the forum running.
Plus it gives me an excellent opportunity to go and check Discretion out when I pop in to pay my subs. WIN. WIN.

What does that mean for people like me that haven't contributed for awhile, can't I pm until I pay up again?

Based off my understanding from tomorrow, yes you won’t be able to PM till you sub, I personally have.

Can people still PM admins though? Because that may be helpful...

Yes the permissions are set to groups, so from tomorrow afternoon registered users will no longer
be able to send PM's

Legraduate beat me to it. Likely lose more members if can't send PM's to admin when there are problems.

If users are not comfortable with contact via email you could also create a subforum for support or reporting issues, with topics visible only to their creator.

Wow people turning blue !!!!
About time .. use something .. support it

BUT. I will say .. I’m guessing quite a few girls/ parlours get enquires from non supporting members so maybe a Drop in business for the girls , do hope this doesn’t have a detrimental effect on their visits ?

Have to wait and see

The biggest complaint i get from girls and Sylvia (the only feedback i really get from a parlour)
Is the amount of time wasters and spam they get, i'm hoping that people who pay for the ability
to PM them will be less likely to do this.

As said just a comment
And you obviously have way more contact with the ways things actually are and hopefully your measures will rectify the problems faced.

We do have a support forum at bottom of home page, it isn't possible to create topics
that only the creator (not the biblical one) can see.

I have created a "MESSAGES FOR ADMIN" chatroom on the home page.
Members of all groups can contact admin in there.
If they have a private issue we can than invite them into a private room.

The problem facing us now is the pm's we send to one another, for example a fellow punter was advising me on a girl I should go and see as she would be something to cross off my bucket list. And the bi curious guy I met at Sarah's place, can't pm him anymore, and the guys asking me about girls I've seen, well that's stopped.

You're the top man wraith you can do as you please and I mean no disrespect but I think this particular change is a wrong one just to save a bit of spam to a few girls and a parlour. I have no problem contributing and I should have again sooner but maybe a rule change instead of this

Depending on the version of phpBB you're running, there are mods that allow you to configure permissions to allow topics to be visible only to their creator (and admins/ moderators of course).

I appreciate all feed back, much of the forum today is built on feed back.
I have toyed with the idea of restricting PM's for a couple of years now but always held back.
It is as much about increasing contributions as it is spam.
All the addons i use here, chatroom, custom profiles, etc i have customised by the author to suit this forum needs.
the forums i go on for access to downloads invariably require a donation to access vip areas
or pm facilities. Paid by contributions.
The competitions: the masseuses time gets paid from contributions.
I had a dream that if i could increase contributions we could have more competitions and even enough to advertise locally
to attract more members, but that was just a dream :)
I do realise that in the short term this will have a negative impact on some members and for that i apologise.

Thank you for that. We are running the latest version of phpBB 3.2.4
There was an old mod but since mods where changed to ext's it hasn't been updated.
I assume you mean this one: https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?t=2224981

I wasn't aware that the comp prizes were paid for by contributions, didn't really think about that. Maybe the very short notice could have been extended to give people time to subscribe but it's your call. You might find more spam messages in the other topics now asking about services

Any of the old active members can ask me in the admin chatroom,
to have a 7 day grace period.

Don't know your reasons to swap it over so quickly but maybe you could have done that in the first place

Perhaps i over estimated the power of instant payments.
