I've been writing some fanfic on and off for a few years now. I just need a little help with some research.
The current line of stories I'm writing are set in the mid 80s. I just needed to know if there were any parlours open in Hull, what their opening hours were and what prices were being charged. I seem to remember seeing ads in men's magazines but were these also in local newspapers or was advertising mainly business cards left in phone boxes? Also, what was the state of play with the Law?
Thanks
A bit of research

Re: A bit of research
Considering the mid 80s was 35 years ago it cancels many punters out. That would take me back to the very beginning of my punting and at that time I was not a parlour punter. When I started the parlour scene it was either 10 or 15 pounds. Then you negotiate the extras. The punter had to ask., also massage benches not beds.

Kind of scary really. I remember my monthly wage being about £350 back then so we're talking around one quarter of a weeks' wage if you say £20 including extras.hornypunter wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 3:14 pm Considering the mid 80s was 35 years ago it cancels many punters out. Well at about £130/hour at some places it isn't far off 25% of a take home wage today.Silkhands wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 7:19 pmKind of scary really.
