Electric vehicles

Unread post by champ »

Anyone got or thinking of purchasing an electric car in the future ?.
Miles per charge and wear and tear/service costs.?
We laughed at the milk floats but they kept on delivering ..
....................
Almost a third of new cars sold in Norway in 2018 were electric

The sales boom is being described as a "small step closer" to the country's aim to have 100% of new zero emissions cars by 2025.

The electric Nissan Leaf was the top-selling car in Norway.

The figure is a new world record and cements Norway's position as the global leader in electric car sales per head of population.

Norway is aiming for 100% of new cars to have zero emissions by 2025, with its government having made battery-driven cars exempt from most taxes.

Electric vehicle drivers also enjoy other benefits such as free parking and charging points.

While we in the West look at how we can reduce carbon emissions the Chinese are putting new coal fired power plants on line at the rate of about one a week. Makes you think.

And there’s still a good chance that the electricity used to charge the car here in the west is generated from a coal/ wood chip power station lol

I may get one if they ever make them solar powered, which i doubt they ever will.
It is easier to fool someone than it is to convince them they have been fooled

It's fine for Norway, almost all of the electricity they create is generated from renewable sources; not so for the rest of us.

Then there's the environmental cost of making the cars themselves.
Andiamo contro tutti
