Re: thoughts
Because have you seen how few people have died in Germany !!! And not just a little better but Over 70 precent less at equivalent outbreak stages .
They must be doing something way better than we are, especially considering they also have land boarders with Italy and France

UK records coronavirus as cause of death even if they had other serious health issues.
Welcome to spin city lol. Or Germany has a super race after all.
Though I'd hazard a guess they handled it better than us and have a more consistent health service.

Spin city in Germany
Media sensationalism in the UK .
As you say ... Germany must be handling better as they are not using the slogan
Protect the health service
Because the DE health service is adequate enough to deal with the situation

Re: thoughts
My point is anyone who wants to make snide or sarcastic remarks about the NHS, its staff or any of our key workers at this moment in time should be ashamed of themselves.
Unfortunately some sad people are that far up their own arses to see the reality of the situation we are all in.
Others are just foolish.
The majority of our population are 100% behind the NHS and what it means to us at these unprecedented times.
To the minority's my advice is take your head out of your bottom and take a long look in the mirror at yourself.
To the buffoons, court jesters and village idiots keep your nasty little thoughts to yourselves on our NHS.
To the majority keep clapping and let's carry on supporting our NHS.
RANT OVER. THANKYOU.

Re: thoughts
How interesting ... to think I was having a go at the NHS?? . read again the remark was made at the in adequate response of the government in particular to the shortages of materials the slowness of reaction and the most gross neglect of testing capabilities.
Hence the government statement ‘protect the NHS’
In conclusion I totally concur at your comments on the NHS Workers.. but also have to say ... At least this village idiot has the capability to read .

Re: thoughts
I'd never question the work of front line health workers (whether doctors, nurses, carers, cleaners, assistants, admin etc) collectively. I don't think any sensible person would - standing up and clapping for them is a nice thing to do. Likewise, the NHS is a wonderful symbol. However, it's best to be open to debating the bureaucracy and funding models within it. Although under the current situation that can wait for another day.
But watching all those stood outside their house clapping, I can't help wonder how many voted 'Age of Austerity' Conservatives in 2010 and 2015. A party which more or less pledged in their manifestos to cut real term social services funding by 11% and halved the NHS's average funding increase. Nurse training places fell; bursaries for trainee nurses was abolished. Despite there being an ageing, increasing population. 'Politics' you may groan - but politics has consequences.
