New site

I went on holiday recently and forgot to take my ipad so i was
stuck using my phone for browsing the net, something i never do on a phone.
It made me realize how bad this site is on a mobile device. So with that in mind
iam customizing a completely new look and user experience and more importantly
far better for mobiles, chatroom, drop down quick links will be the same. It will come as a massive shock to those
members who have grown used to the layout as it is now and iam sure will explode some heads
But the new design will have a better kerb appeal to new users and should encourage more click through's.

Hmm.. I don’t really mind the layout of the site on mobile, in fact I’d say it’s my preference over using a computer (due to privacy as well) it has a pretty tight layout as well.

Just a thought regarding the new site, maybe consider the colour palette? Obviously I think the majority of users are using the site discreetly so wouldn’t want it portrayed as a big neon sign, drawing unwanted attention.

Thanks for the feed back Rambler, i haven't really settled on a colour scheme yet, grey, black and green have been the
predominant colours used over the years, but i will keep it toned down

Change is good! But personally I wouldn't log on in public as I can now because of the images that come up straight away

The basic theme without pics can be seen by going to your user control panel (on here) then board preferences
In that section there is a drop down to choose My board style:, choose H20 and submit.

I should be finished on the new theme (H2O) later today. the new theme will cause
all themes to have forum images. You can switch between themes by using the
Board Styles drop down in the menu bar (or in the quick links in mobile view).
If you wish to have any theme as your permanent theme, go to your user control panel then board preferences
In that section there is a drop down to choose My board style: and submit.
The new theme will be the default for new members, guests and anyone not
following the above instructions.

PS. Old theme is Carbon

Yep, you weren't kidding, I take a small leave of absence for a week or so and return to find its all changed!
Okay, so I've not had chance to have a proper look around yet and am still pondering over these funny Icon things but it actually looks good. Not sure I'll ever be able to log on via mobile though, I'm not that advanced.
